The school observed the 8th International Yoga Day with the burning theme "Yoga for Humanity", which was accompanied by the school NSS Unit, NCC Unit, and ECO Club at the school playground pavilion on June 21st 2022. Despite the ongoing term-I examination, the session was groomed and proceeded with the students of class XI and some volunteer students of the NSS Unit and other units. The Principal, Shri Ashok Kumar Bhagat, addressed his welcoming speech placing key points on Yoga and physical exercises in everyday life. NSS volunteers Sonam Laden Lepcha and Anjali Rai highlighted the benefits of Yoga and briefed its inception to the world. Further, Shri Milan Sharma (Sanskrit GT) piloted the students to participate and perform the simple and beginning yoga asanas by demonstrating and explaining meticulously. Yoga adds a flavour to live our lives better, which elevates physical, mental and spiritual health, Mr Sharma says. The session was over with words of thanks presented by NSS PO Karma Sandup Bhutia.
